Amentum Air Force Division | Training Exceptional Airmen to Fly, Fight and Win.

Amentum Air Force Division is the United States Air Force's premiere rotary-wing flight instruction provider. We provide initial helicopter transition, contact, instrument, and remote flight training. Amentum AFD conducts this training in academics, operational flight training simulators, and virtual reality devices. We also provide world-class flight operations management, providing scheduling and operations supervisor support for a 10,000+ flying hour program. Amentum AFD is also responsible for providing instruction to graduate level students in Qualification, Rotary Wing Fundamentals, Pilot-Instructor Training and Theater Indoctrination courses. Flight and Academic instructors work diligently and safely to ensure graduating students are well-prepared to meet the rigors of tomorrow's vertical airlift challenges. In this capacity, Amentum AFD is proud to be part of the USAF’s transition to the Helicopter Training – Next (HTN) program, seeking to revolutionize pilot flight training.
The Amentum AFD adheres to industry quality principles and provides quality control through an aggressive and comprehensive Quality Improvement Program, thus ensuring the enhancement and constant improvement of all phases of training and support provided to the USAF.
Our flight instructors are highly trained and experienced pilots averaging over 5,000 hours of instructor time and over 9,000 hours of total flight time. The division enjoys over 100 years of aviation management experience.
